Camp Lejeune Veterans and Family Members

Eligible Veterans and Family Members

  • Applies to Veterans and other individuals who resided, worked, or were otherwise exposed for 30 days or more between August 1, 1953 and December 31, 1987.

  • Gives Veterans the right to file an action in the U.S District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina. This is very different from a regular VA compensation claim, in that it can include pain and suffering damages.

  • The statute of limitations is two years from the date of the bill or 180 days after an individual’s claim is denied.

  • This statute will not apply to VA claims.

    Covered Conditions

  • If you have a disability you believe was caused by contaminated water, you may be eligible for compensation. Under the PACT Act, it is now presumed you were exposed to contaminated water. A competent medical opinion could lead to service-connection for a condition not listed based on the presumption of exposure.
